Temple History Singosari

Temple history Singosari

If we always identify with the temples of Central Java, then this assumption is no longer true, because Malang also have them. A temple built to commemorate the death of King
Singosari , King Kertanegara, has become one of the resorts in Malang. This temple is a temple Singosari , or temple "Singhasari", which is building a place of worship the king or the king's ancestors.
Located in a cool valley, in a quiet village, among the Tengger Mountains and Mount Arjuna, Singosari temple can be reached about 40 minutes from the city of Malang, precisely in the village Candirenggo, Singosari Sub Malang (about 10 km north of the city of Malang .)
A historical view has been greeted us before getting to this temple.Because not far from this temple we will find two large statues of nearly 3.70 m tall is
named Dwarapala, still standing in place of the original, the custodians of the road leading to the enshrinement.

The roof of the temple only partially live, but has finished with a garnish of finely carved, while the bottom is plain. Temple Singosari not stand alone but all around the yard of the temple are still found in many statues.

In the field found a framed inscription of 1351 AD From the writings in this inscription historians concluded that the temple Singosari Kertanegara closely associated with the king of the Kingdom Singosari . The building was probably established in conjunction with sraddha ceremony, a ceremony to commemorate 12 years after King's death in 1304 AD,in the reign of Raden Wijaya, the king of Majapahit I.
Other notes from Kakawin Nagarakertagama Prapanca essay, stanza XLII-XLIII, mentions that the King Kertanegara is a king who was very respected. Written that he had mastered all kinds of knowledge such as Sadguna (the science of state administration), Tatwopadeso (the science of nature), law-abiding, steadfast in carrying out the provisions relating to religious worship of Jina (apageh ing jinabrata), persevere in running prayogakrya ( tantric rites.) Kertanegara is the last king of the Kingdom of Singosari who ruled in 1268-1292 AD He was killed in a revolt led by Jayakatwang , king bawahaannya. Singosari temple was built to commemorate his death.

If we want a different tour, visit the temple Singosari. Enjoying a relic of history will give special experience for us. Surely adding the pride we become a nation of Indonesia with its cultural heritage is so rich ..

Topeng Malang, which is often called wayang topeng is now found is several village around Malang, although at one time it reached as far as the area of Tanggulangin and Sidoarjo near the Lapindo mud area.
A performance is usually held to celebrate a wedding, circumcision, for some other special occasion and can take place in the daytime or evening. If the former, the performance usually lasts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while an evening performance might begin at 9 p.m. and last until 5 p.m. Occasionally, the performance might be shortened to two or three hours. The stories usually taken from the Panji cycle, although they are sometimes taken from the Ramayana, Mahabaratha, and Ruatan as well.

The players are all male even female roles being performed by boys. All wear masks(topeng). A troupe usually consists of between seven and ten dancers who may act between 25 and 30 roles using different masks. Thus, 1 person may play 3 and 4 individuals. Each troupe generally owns at least 60 masks. In wayang topeng, the dalang does all the narration, while the dancers move accordingly. Only clowns like Semar, Bagong, and Potrojoyo are allowed to have their own dialogues.
The color of paint and the topeng depicts the characters portrayed. In general, red is used for a coarse of rough characters, white for arrogance, green for wisdom and modesty, pink for cunning and wiliness, yellow for contentment, etc.
Each actor wears different headgear according to the role he has adopted: a crown, hairknot, keling or pogogan made of inlaid leather, painted on the side in a symmetrical fashion. There is also a head covering made of cloth, a kind of headband, and something akind to tophat. A pair of ear ornaments called sumping is worn, with strings of flowers hanging on either side for a length of 25 cm.
The dancers do not wear shirts and some wear prabha. Those playing female roles do, however, wear a kind of chest covering called mekak, or angkin. They also wear rapek, which covers the folds of the kain with one pointed edge on the lefthand side touching the ankle. They wear Panji-panji pants while a sampur is hung from the shoulder.

This kind of art is probably extremely old, even though this particular form has undergone development throughout its history. The oldest is wayang wong which developed in the 11th century. In the time of the Majapahit empire, several terms were used to described the arts of topeng: atapukan, tapel, raket, sori tekes, and so forth.
When the Muslim Sultans of Java were no longer interested in developing topeng, this kind of art moved outside the court where it continued to hold the interest of a wide variety of people.

Pidato Bahasa Inggris : Global Warming "

Global Warming

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

First of all, let us praise to the Almighty Allah SWT, because of His Blessing we are able to attend this room

I also would like to say many thanks to the juries and MC who have given me opportunity to deliver an English speech in front of you all.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The title of my speech is “Save Our Earth; Save Our Forest”.

As we know, people from all over the world always commemorate Earth Day every 22nd April. The idea of earth day is based on the awareness to save this world from the environmental destruction. It aims at making global movements to participate actively in saving our earth – the only planet in which we live.

Our country, Indonesia, which is known as the emerald of equator, has an important role to keep the balance of world ecological system. 63 percent (or 1,134,000 km2) of our land territory is still as a forest. Meanwhile, the water area is more than 317,000,000 km2. 17 percent of world plant and animal species live in Indonesia. It indicates that the ecosystem and environmental condition in Indonesia will affect the world. In other words, the environmental damage in Indonesia will influence the sustainability of world environment.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

One of the causes of environmental damage is deforestation, or known as the destruction of forest. The deforestation has caused many disasters in this world, including Indonesia. Floods, earthquakes and landslides are examples of killing disasters which make us realize that the existence of forest is very important.

In Addition, another effect of deforestation is related with the global warming or the increase of global surface temperature which is mainly caused by the greenhouse effects. We all know, one of the most crucial issues in celebrating Earth Day is the global warming. It warns us that our earth is in danger and we should participate actively to take care of our environment.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The question is, what is the relationship between Earth Day, global warming, deforestation, and Indonesia?

Indonesia lies in the equator, between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn. Because of its location, Indonesia is rich of rainforests. Scientists state that the function of rainforests is as the lungs of the world. They absorb greenhouse gas emissions, turn carbon dioxide (CO2) into oxygen (O2). It means that if deforestation keeps going on, the greenhouse effects can not be reduced and finally the global warming will keep increasing.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We live in the same world; in this earth. The importance of saving our environment, especially our rainforests, is the need for all of us, for human being to survive. It is not only for us, but also for our next generation
Global warming is one of the most serious challenges facing us today. To protect the health and economic well-being of current and future generations, we must reduce our emissions of heat-trapping gases by using the technology, know-how, and practical solutions already at our disposal.

Tropical deforestation is the largest source of emissions for many developing countries, but slowing deforestation can't solve the climate problem by itself. As forest-rich developing countries step up to take responsibility for reducing their emissions, all industrialized nations should not only support their efforts but, most importantly, reduce their own emissions and lead efforts to avert dangerous climate change.

For years we have heard so much about the causes of climate change, that we’ve missed the fact that there are simple, practical solutions that can slow this growing problem. Technologies exist today that can cut emissions of heat-trapping gases and make a real difference in the health of our planet. And these solutions will be good for our economy, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and enhance our energy security.

Global warming doesn’t just mean balmy February days in northern climes. It also means increasingly hot days in the summer, and a host of negative impacts that are already under way and are expected to intensify in the
coming decades.

-More heat waves will likely increase the risk of heat-related illnesses and deaths.

-Cities and towns along the nation's major rivers will experience more severe and frequent flooding.

-Some areas will likely experience more extensive and prolonged droughts.

-Some of our favorite coastal and low-lying vacation areas, such as parts of the Florida Keys and Cape Cod, will be much less appealing as sea levels rise, dunes erode, and the areas become more vulnerable to coastal storms.

-Many families and businesses, who have made their living from fishing, farming, and tourism could lose their livelihoods, and others who love hunting, boating, skiing, birdwatching, and just relaxing near lakes, streams, and wetlands will see some of their favorite places irretrievably changed.

The solutions to climate change are here and it's time we put them to use. If we get started today we can tackle this problem and decrease the unpleasant outcomes that await us if we do nothing. The steps we need to take are common sense. And, more often than not, they will save consumers money. The cost of inaction, however, is unacceptably high.

The scientific consensus is in. Our planet is warming, and we are helping make it happen by adding more heat-trapping gases, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2), to the atmosphere. The burning of fossil fuel (oil, coal, and natural gas) alone accounts for about 75 percent of annual CO2 emissions from human activities. Deforestation—the cutting and burning of forests that trap and store carbon—accounts for about another 20 percent.

Procrastination is not an option. Scientists agree that if we wait 10, 20, or 50 years, the problem will be much more difficult to address and the consequences for us will be that much more serious.

We're treating our atmosphere like we once did our rivers. We used to dump waste thoughtlessly into our waterways, believing that they were infinite in their capacity to hold rubbish. But when entire fisheries were poisoned and rivers began to catch fire, we realized what a horrible mistake that was.

Our atmosphere has limits too. CO2 remains in the atmosphere for about 100 years. The longer we keep polluting, the longer it will take to recover and the more irreversible damage will be done.

Fuel-efficient vehicles. Renewable energy. Protecting threatened forests. These common sense solutions won't only reduce global warming, many will save us money and create new business opportunities.

Best of all, these solutions exist now. We just need to insist that business and government take the necessary steps to make them available and affordable. Then we have to let consumers know what to do and provide incentives to help all of us make better choices.

The following five sensible steps are available today and can have an enormous impact on the problem CO2 remains in the atmosphere for about 100 years.

Pidato bahasa inggris " DRUGS"

DRUGS / Narkoba

Good Morning Ladies And Gentlements. Thank for the chance that has been given to me. My name is Tascia.. I’m representative ….. The honorable . mr…….. …. …. And all the young generation that present here.
Ladies and Gentlements,
Thousands of young men have wasted their lives because of illicit drugs in our country, Indonesia. They were mostly victims of a ‘cruel’ environment, a broken-home family, of ignorance, of curiosity or particularly of the illegal drugs mafia. It is estimated that around 4 million people in Indonesia illicit drug users – about one in every 50 Indonesians. In the capital city of Jakarta, it is estimated that three out of ten young people are users. A study by the International Labor Organization (ILO) office in Indonesia showed that around four per cent of illicit drug users in the country are children under 17 years old. Two out of ten users are involved in illicit trafficking. Some teenagers start being involved in producing and trafficking drugs between the ages of 13 and 15. Chairman of the National Narcotics Coordinating Board said that the country’s illicit drug users include around 7,000 junior high school students, over 10,000 senior high school students and about 800 elementary school students.
Ladies and Gentlements
People usually take drugs to have fun or escape the pressures of life. Drug users among students are particularly worrying. It was reported that a number of traffickers operate around schools by cheating, forcing or giving free illicit drugs to students. Once the students are addicted, they then go to the traffickers to buy the illicit drugs. If they do not have money, they steal it from their family members or others. Narkoba’ is the Indonesian term for narcotics, psychotropic and addictive substances. Psychotropic substances popularly called Ecstasy and Shabu-shabu are considered favorites among the middle and upper class users. However, for an increasing number of young people, the drug of choice is low-grade heroin, known as putaw, which is cheap, plentiful, but potentially deadly. These drugs are readily available in all major urban areas, including schools, Karaoke lounges, bars, cafes, discotheques, nightclubs, and they even spread into remote villages. Therefore it is not surprising that drug users continue to increase from year to year.
Ladies And Gentlements
The facts above showed us how familiar “Narkoba” issues In our young generation. First we should know what’s the meaning of drugs addiction? Drug addiction is a complex brain disease. It is characterized by compulsive, at times uncontrollable, drug craving, seeking, and use that persist even in the face of extremely negative consequences. Drug seeking becomes compulsive, in large part as a result of the effects of prolonged drug use on brain functioning and, thus, on behavior. For many people, drug addiction becomes chronic, with relapses possible even after long periods of abstinence. The Definition confirm us how serious the consequences of using Drugs.
Ladies and Gentlements
Drug abuse has also contributed to the increase of HIV/AIDS patients, through the usage of unsterile injections. According to a report based on an illicit drug and injection safety study of 20 Asian countries conducted by the Center for Harm Reduction in Australia’s Burnet Institute, drug injecting is spreading to all the countries [of Asia] and its popularity is increasing. Our Country, Indonesia have up to 1 million drug injectors, and 19% of them were infected HIV/AIDS. How Dangerous the drugs abuse for us.
Ladies and Gentlements especially,The young Generation
This is an extremely serious issue for us. It’s a threat that could kill an entire generation. One generation of this nation will be lost if we do not take action together and immediately. In short, we must be ready to go to war against illicit drugs and the war must start from home.
then, what can we do as the young generation? Prevention is better than cure. AVOID the Drugs, don’t ever think to try just b’coz you curios. because once you try, you will be trapped and later become addicted, and the addiction will finally turn you into criminals or take your lives. We have so many example around us, what happened to the users. Some b’come crazy, Some was going to the jail, And The others were died. All of them loose their future. I believe we don’t want such things happened to ourselves.

The Young Generation,
Now its time for us to say ‘NO’ to drugs. It’s time for us to arrange our future. It’s time for us to face the world with our ability. It’s time for us to prove that we can do something for our country, With The spirit of ‘Indonesian Awakening Day’.
Thank you.

Pidato Bahasa Inggris "Education"

Education

Assalamu’alaikum Wr.Wb.
Firstly, I would like to say thank you very much for the MC and juries who have given me
opportunity to deliver this English speech.
Ladies and Gentlemen;
It is a great honor for me to stand here and give a brief speech entitled “Formal Education
in Indonesia”
Brothers and Sisters;
Education system in our country is divided into two major parts, they are formal and
non-formal. A formal education is divided into three levels: primary, secondary and
tertiary education. While non-formal education is carried out for the learners who get
difficulties to meet the requirements in formal education. An example of non-formal
education is PLS (Pendidikan Luar Sekolah). Both formal and non-formal education aim
at establishing the education process in our country.
Ladies and Gentlemen;
As I have stated previously, formal education involves three levels: primary, secondary
and tertiary education. Before entering primary or elementary school, children in our
country usually have attended kindergarten, or known as Taman Kanak-kanak. But this
education is not compulsory for Indonesian citizens, as the aim of this is just to prepare
them for primary school.
Children ages 7–12 attend primary education at Elementary School or Sekolah Dasar.
This level of education is compulsory for all Indonesian citizens. Similar to education
systems in the U.S. and Australia, students must study for six years to complete this level.
Some schools offer an accelerated learning program, where students who perform well
can finish elementary school in five years.
The next level is secondary education. After graduating from elementary school, students
attend Middle School or Junior High School (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) for three years
from the age of 13-15. After three years of schooling and graduation, students may move
on to Senior High School. In Indonesia, this school is basically divided into two kinds:
SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas) and SMK (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan). SMA is
different with SMK in their studies. The students at SMA are prepared to advance to
tertiary education or university, while students of SMK as a vocational school are
prepared to be ready to work after finishing their school without going to
university/college.
The last level of education in our country is tertiary education. Students who have
graduated from senior high school may attend to university or academy. They can choose
any kinds of university or academy based on their interests or scopes of knowledge, for
example majoring in English, Mathematics, or teacher training university.
Ladies and Gentlemen;
Brothers and Sisters;
I think that’s all my speech. I hope my brief description on the formal education in our
country will be useful for us.
Finally, I would like to say sorry if there are mistakes in my speech words.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Wassalamu’alaikum Wr.Wb.

The midnight song I cried out went "In reality, ever since that day, I..."

After the glowing twilight, the stars took their place in the sky and each played its own tune
Even if I can't say I've become honest,
Tears have now merged with my emotions and a small sea has formed at my feet

The sky doesn't move; the sun simply rises and sets
The ground doesn't move; you only either walk or stand still

The midnight song I cried out went "In reality, I don't like being alone... I truly hate it"
I've come to know what's important ever since that day
A small spoon is almost enough to scoop up happiness
Is there someone to share it with or must I keep it to myself?

A new crack appears every time I pretend to be strong, so it appears that my heart must be made of glass, just like an empty dream
Since we're afraid of messing with purity, each and every one of us has acted
As though we have settled down in this opaque world

I've walked dragging a weighty freedom along
Each time separation would come, it seemed as though the sky would sink back

Farewell; I muttered in the rain "You can borrow my umbrella... that's what it's here for"
I'll give you the kindness always found inside my heart
I still haven't given up on the chance of there being a reunion; that's a promise
To the person who sleeps with stardust as a bed

In the town with no seasons crouches a sad young boy
There's simply no one there to stroke his head, but despite that...

The children who suffer from the cold gaze up at the stars

The midnight song I cried out went "In reality, I don't like being alone... I truly hate it"
I've always lived on by myself in solitude
A small spoon is almost enough to scoop up happiness
Is there anyone at all to share it with or must it be kept to myself?
The midnight song I cry out goes "In reality, I... in reality, I... was very lonely"
Even if it is erased by the blazing sun
Come on, you can always either wave a flag, go on each other's shoulders or just sing something
It's just a matter of whether there's someone to share it with or not

Lagu tengah malam yang dinyanyikan
Sebenarnya sejak hari itu, aku...

Setelah senja bersinar, bintang-bintang dilangit masing-masing memainkan lagu mereka

Sebenarnya aku benci kesendirian, sangat membencinya

Setiap perpisahan, langit seolah-olah menghilang

Sebenarnya aku benci kesendirian, sangat membencinya
Aku selalu hidup sendirian
Sebuah sendok kecil cukup untuk meraup kebahagiaan
Tapi apakah ada seseorang untuk berbagi atau tidak
Lagu tengah malam yang dinyanyikan
Sebenarnya aku sangat kesepian
Walaupun terhapus oleh cahaya matahari
Apakah kau harus menyerah ? atau harus bersama ? atau hanya bernyanyi ?
Tapi adakah seseorang untuk berbagi atau tidak
